I’m particularly proud of this hat. It is my favorite by far and it’s quite handsome with a series of rib and cables.
The All Occasions Cabled Flat Cap is a bit more masculine in design, but it’s beautiful on both men and women. It’s definitely a standout flat cap inspired by a flat cap I’ve seen in the past. That hat was most likely a designer hat, so I’m happy to offer a flat cap that can be entirely handmade with either yarn attaching the top and brim, or a sew-on snap (my personal preference!).
Just to recap, I wanted to make a flat cap that would stay on my head but not be so tight that it gives me a headache. That is why The All Occasions Flat Caps (also here and here) come in only two sizes: Small to Medium and Medium to Large. That way if you are a Medium but prefer a tighter fit, choose the smaller measurements. If you’re a Medium but prefer a looser fit, knit the larger measurements. The hat is made smaller by reducing stitches in the headband and Side Panel that wraps around the sides and front of the hat. If you find you need a snugger fit, it is easy to do by simply reducing these stitches.
This is my pride and joy, so I hope it finds some love from others who love the Irish Flat Cap as much as I do!
