If you are new to polymer clay, this is a fun and super easy tutorial. It requires only a few tools, and if you aren’t feeling secure about the white pedals (white is hard to keep dust-free), switch to a color. The only things I didn’t show were 1) using vaseline to clean my hands, and 2) using an oven thermometer with my toaster oven. Temperature is very important, so getting it right requires some help if your oven temperatures are inconsistent.
I used:
- Sculpey III clay
- tempered glass to work on
- a circle cookie cutter for the base of the flower
- an almond-shaped cookie cutter for the pedals
- small rolling pin
- 2 popsicle sticks
- saran wrap
- parchment paper
- metal knitting needle for the accents on the pedals and center
- 2 jump rings
- earrings
- 2 needle nose pliers
You don’t have to make earrings! Glue magnets on the back and decorate your refrigerator with flowers!
