I watched “Atari: Game Over” last week. It was a geek-fest because I had an Atari 2600 as a kid. It was a phenomenon at the time to bring a video game into your home and play it whenever you wanted to. Now the phenomenon is to take the game outside.
I love how Pokémon Go is inspiring that same nostalgia. And it’s not a violent game. Yes, you can battle with your Pokémon, but you can also just walk around collecting them. I’m a sucker for cute games with cute characters. Sonic the Hedgehog, Frogger, Mario Bros., Donky Kong, Pokémon. And now I have a Crochet Squirtle Footbag.
